Somewhere to do the work.

Acting work is nonlinear and largely invisible. A script arrives. Someone scribbles all over it. A character slowly starts becoming a person. A line gets repeated fifty times. There are four takes that are nearly identical and somehow completely different. A note gets written at 1 AM. An audition disappears. Another one comes.

Most software isn’t built for that. It wants tidy tasks, clean stages and a number at the end. OFF BOOK is built the other way around: a private room where the messy middle of the work can live, and where it stays afterwards.

What it is

A place to keep an audition and everything attached to it, build a character book slowly, mark up sides, learn lines on your own, keep your takes and your notes on them, and hold onto what you discover — across years, not just this week.

What it isn’t

It isn’t a casting site, a social network, a place to be discovered, or a productivity tracker. There is no score, no streak, no leaderboard and no algorithm judging a performance.

Privacy first

Everything is private by default and tied to your account. An optional public actor page can be switched on for the specific lines you choose; your workspace can never be published.
